Publication Ethics
Jurnal Biologi Babasal upholds publication ethics which as a whole refers to the policies of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to be implemented professionally. Specifically, the following is a description of publication ethics that must at least be adhered to in the editorial process of managing the Jurnal Biologi Babasal. The application of publication ethics applies at least in several areas as described below. Manuscripts accepted by the Jurnal Biologi Babasal must at least avoid the following elements:
-
Plagiarism. Articles must be original and the result of the author's thoughts. If a manuscript is found that contains other work without giving appropriate credit, for example a text that is copied word for word without a clear indication that it is a quotation, the manuscript falls into the category of plagiarism.
-
Incorrect or incomplete references. All previously published text, figures, graphs, tables, data, ideas or concepts must be cited in accordance with applicable rules. Inclusion without citation will be considered plagiarism regardless of the author's ignorance or intention.
-
Republish. Jurnal Biologi Babasal does not publish manuscripts that have been previously published in other journals.
-
Fraud. It often happens that authors misread sources and inadvertently make inaccurate statements. Any form of inaccuracy, manipulation or destruction of data must be immediately prevented and avoided.
Publication ethics related to submitted articles are not limited to the four things above. If there are indications that the author has attempted to mislead readers, violate copyright or patents, or may endanger the integrity of the journal in other ways, there are several possibilities, namely:
- Manuscript revision;
- Issuance of a statement letter;
- Withdrawal of articles from published editions;
- Notification to the author's home institution.
