ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR JOURNAL PUBLICATION
The publication of an article in the Jurnal Yustisiabel is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the authors' work and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and promote the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the ethical standards of conduct expected of all parties involved in the publishing process: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public.
The Faculty of Law, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk, as the publisher of the Jurnal Yustisiabel, takes its stewardship of all stages of publication seriously and is aware of its ethical responsibilities and other obligations. We are committed to ensuring that advertisements, reprints, or other commercial income do not influence editorial decisions. Additionally, the Faculty of Law at Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk and the Editorial Board will assist in communication with other journals and/or publishers if deemed useful and necessary.
PUBLICATION DECISIONS
The Editor of the Jurnal Yustisiabel is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validity of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always guide these decisions. Editors may be guided by the journal's editorial policies and constrained by existing legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or the editorial board in making this decision.
FAIR PLAY
Editors evaluate manuscripts at all times for intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Editors and editorial staff shall not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the author(s), reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.
DISCLOSURE AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Unpublished information disclosed in submitted manuscripts shall not be used by the editorial board for their own research purposes without the written permission of the author(s). As a result of handling manuscripts, any privileged information or advice received by editors shall be kept confidential and shall not be used for personal gain or advantage. Editors shall not accept manuscripts that present a conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with persons, institutions, or companies related to the manuscript.
MANAGEMENT OF UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR
The editor, together with the publisher, must take reasonable steps when ethical concerns arise regarding submitted manuscripts or published articles. Any recorded actions of unethical publishing activities will be prosecuted, even if discovered years after publication. For this reason, the Jurnal Yustisiabel has legal experts in the field of Intellectual Property as an Ethics Advisory Board in accordance with the Rector's Decision of Muhammadiyah University Luwuk.
REVIEWER DUTIES.
Contribution to Editorial Decisions. Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with authors, can also assist authors in improving their papers.
Timeliness. Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that timely review is not possible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
Confidentiality. All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Objectivity Standards. Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources. Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial overlap or similarity between the manuscript under consideration and other manuscripts that they know have been published.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts with which they have a conflict of interest as a result of competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with the authors, their employers, or their institutions.
AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting standards. Authors of original research reports must present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. The paper should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Intentionally fraudulent or inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
Data Access and Storage. Authors are requested to provide raw data related to the paper for editorial review and must be prepared to make such data publicly available (in accordance with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases), if possible, and must, in any case, be prepared to store the data for a reasonable period of time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism. Authors must ensure that they have written work that is entirely original, and if the author has used the work and/or words of others, this has been properly cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Simultaneous Publication. An author should not generally publish a manuscript that substantially describes the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously constitutes unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
Acknowledgment of Sources. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of Papers. Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If others have participated in the substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the manuscript and that no inappropriate co-authors are listed, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest. All authors must disclose in their manuscripts any financial conflicts of interest or other substantive conflicts of interest that may be interpreted as influencing the results or interpretation of their manuscripts. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
Fundamental errors in published works. When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his or her own published work, the author is obligated to notify the journal editor or publisher immediately and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.
