METODE BUDIDAYA KERAMBA JARING APUNG DENGAN KEPADATAN BERBEDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN SINTASAN ABALON (Haliotis asenina)
Abstract
Maintenance of abalone in floating net cages is a community economic activity by utilizing available natural resources, labor and technology. The community is not only trying to produce or produce abalone to meet household needs, but can meet market demand. The high market demand for abalone followed by high prices caused the exploitation of abalone in nature to increase, followed by market demand. This is necessary so that the sustainability of abalone resources in nature remains sustainable through the development of abalone cultivation business. This research was conducted from June to August 2018 in the coastal waters of Okumel Village, Liang District, Kab. Banggai Islands, Central Sulawesi. The research objective is the cultivation method of floating net cages with different densities for optimal abalone growth. The research container used was a plastic basket measuring L x W x H (30 x 25 x 15) cm nine units, inside placed a palaron pipe (PVC) as a shelter. The test organisms were abalone with a length of 3.0 ± 0.7 cm, weight 19 ±0.5 g/head, with the distribution of each treatment: A 10 tails, B 20 tails, and C 30 individuals. The results showed that the weight of abalone in the treatment increased with increasing maintenance time, the weights for each treatment were significantly different. The best specific growth rate was treatment A (0.560±0.049%), followed by treatment B (0.138±0.036%) and treatment C (0.073±0.022%). The best shell length growth was in treatment A (1.921,635±158,540 mm), treatment B (968,±181,848 mm) and the lowest was in treatment C (428,573±125,988 mm) and the best live was A ( 100 ±0.00%), followed by treatment B (86.667±2.887 %) and treatment C (80.000±3.333%).Â
